In 1993, Dr. Marc Abitbol, holder of a PhD in Physics from the Hebrew University founded the company, which was supported by the Israeli incubator program.

VISIONIX developed its products relying on its innovative patented PowerMap TM technology, which provides simultaneous multipoint measurements of all the parameters of a lens. The technology, originated by the impressive list of VISIONIX scientists previously involved in the "Star wars" space project, is based on Hartman Wavefront 3-D technology. This knowledge and experience has put VISIONIX at the forefront of Wavefront technology.

VISIONIX focused exclusively on R&D until 1996, when it received an award as the most successful incubator.

During 1998, VISIONIX shifted gears to cater to the enormous retail market of opticians and ophthalmologists, with over 250,000 potential customers worldwide. The company studied the needs of this market and adjusted its technology to create the VL3000, a revolutionary measuring device for mapping optical lenses, at very affordable prices.

In February 2000 VISIONIX went public on the Neuer Markt. This high growth segment of the German stock exchange was the logical choice, since Germany is strong in the field of optics and Germany and Europe were the springboard for the company's retail product, the VL3000.

In July 2003 VISIONIX acquired Luneau SA, a leading ophthalmic equipment supplier (www.luneau.fr). The company, located in Chartres (near Paris), manufactures, sells and services complete solutions for its loyal customers for over 75 years. This acquisition is strengthening VISIONIX market existence and its position as market leader.
