Dr. Marc Abitbol combines a rare blend of extraordinary scientific know-how with an intuitive management sense. In December 1993, he founded the company, intent on realizing a vision of developing innovative optical elements inspection equipment. Dr. Abitbol built Visionix from a core group of four people to the current group of forty employees by expertly managing the expansion of the company, its products and strategic goals.

Prior to founding Visionix, Dr. Abitbol worked at Bertin & Cie, a leading European engineering company, located in France. At Bertin, he established and managed a new business unit for contactless optical measurement. Before joining Bertin, Dr. Abitbol gained industrial experience at El-Op Electro-Optics Industries Ltd. ("El-Op"), an Israeli company in the field of military electro-optic systems. As a senior physicist, Dr. Abitbol worked on the development of an airborne reconnaissance camera. Dr. Abitbol's scientific credentials include publishing over thirty articles and obtaining more than twenty patents in electro-optics.

Born in France, Dr. Abitbol holds a Ph.D. in Applied Physics and Electro-Optics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.


Mr. Sasson combines specialized financial abilities with strategic business expertise in his capacity of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Sasson brings to Visionix over 10 years of experience in company management, business consulting, and guiding start-ups through the intricate IPO process.

Mr. Sasson began his career as an analyst in a leading Israeli accounting firm. From there he served as Vice President of Inventech, a successful Israeli VC firm. Mr. Sasson has the unique experience of analyzing companies from the outside and financially directing them from the inside.

Born in Israel, Mr. Sasson holds an M.A. in Business Economics from the Tel Aviv University and is a Certified Public Accountant in Israel.


Mr. Herman brings first hand experience and know-how of the various levels to Visionix's management. Relying on his experience in large organization leadership and various business aspects, Visionix was offered an excellent opportunity to rebuild the infrastructure necessary for the company's growth. Mr. Herman joined Visionix in the beginning of 2001, as Chief Operating Officer, and since June 2003 serves as General Manager for the Israeli company.

Following two-years of employment at Intel Electronics, Mr. Herman proceeded to an ambitious 9-year career at Scitex, the world's leader in digital systems for the graphic arts industry. At Scitex, Mr. Herman quickly advanced from Marketing and Business Planner to General Manager of the Electronics Division.

Born in Israel, Mr. Herman holds Master in Business Administration and B.Sc. in Industrial Engineering & Management, both from the Tel Aviv University.
